Our Purpose
Our broad aim is to
promote the arts, heritage and culture with a distinctly Scottish flavour!
Our specific aim is to provide
opportunities for writers at all stages of their careers and development to associate, learn and develop together, through performance, development activities, events, publications and the general celebration of of Scottish writing across genres and all three of Scotland's languages, English, Gaelic and Scots.

The Federation of Writers (Scotland) is maintained by volunteers whose aim is to promote writing and spoken word opportunities. Membership is free, but please feel very free to make a donation - see below.

The Federation of Writers (Scotland) is an organisation dedicated to making the written and spoken word available to the public of Scotland with respect for diversity and recognition of additional support needs. Members pledge that they support this ideal and will endeavour not to bring the Federation of Writers (Scotland) into disrepute.
